Worst performance Inma a Divisional Round

Post by jmvillelabeitia »

I don’t remember every single game from the actual playoffs format, wildcard and divisional, but I can’t hardly remember a team in the divisional round with such a poor performance as the Titans had last night. One thing is getting man handled by a much far superior team, like those last Marino’s Dolphins by Coughlin’s Jaguars, but this Titans had no clues, they just simply didn’t belong here and some how they reached this round.

The AFC is a joke, when Manning was there we had something similar to a dog fight, but since he’s gone It’s not strange Brady says he will play until his Mid 40s, after the Steelers, and with out Shazier their defense ir just average, no way anybody is going to stop Belichick and company this year, the next One and many more to come unless some teams really challenge the Patriots

Miami's cumulative effort from 1998 to 2000.

38-3 loss to Denver. Miami had just trounced Denver three weeks earlier.

62-7 loss to Jacksonville. Jacksonville was 5 games better than Miami, but 55 points is 55 points. Plus, both teams were 7-1 at the halfway mark.

27-0 loss to Oakland. The Raiders only had 1 more win in the regular season than the Dolphins.

Going back:

1967: Browns lose 52-14 to Cowboys, setting up the Ice Bowl
1970: Bengals lose 17-0 to Colts, offering no real challenge
1976: Colts lose 40-14 to rampaging Steelers
1978: Patriots lose 31-14 to Oilers, thanks to Chuck Fairbanks bailing out on them

Miami’s ’99 stinker is of course #1 along with, as conace points out, Dolphns’ overall three-year (’98 thru ’00) cumulative effort.

That said...how about Walsh/Montana suffering that 49-3 debacle at Meadowlands in ’86?

As for another cumulative struggle, how about Sgt Rock, of all guys, surrendering 75 total points in ’88 & ’89?

The way Steelers are playing so far, down 28-7 just before halftime, maybe today’s game!
