You don't even have to read the whole story, only know that it contains the statment, "We could be the Oregon of the NFL". In other news, Paul Brown just rolled over.

When we went last year to Cleveland for the PFRA meeting I would never imagine they would do something like this, Although their uniforms were kind of dull, they were much traditional, and they always seem for a pro team. I recall that in 1984 they tried in the preseason a brown jersey with numbers in orange, and didn't last.

Most of the kiddos probably don't remember "Charlie O." but he must be laffin' to beat the band.
He was only 50 years ahead of everyone.
Imagine? being silly enough to have play-off games at night!
Well, they laughed at Columbus and Edison and Marconi...

In 1963, Finley changed the team's colors to Kelly Green, Gold, and White. In 1967, he replaced the team's traditional black cleats with white. Finley also started phasing out the team name "Athletics" in favor of "A's." (When Mickey Mantle saw the A's' green-and-gold uniforms, he jeered, "They should have come out of the dugout on tippy-toes, holding hands and singing," according to Baseball Digest.)

Those kinds of plays were expected."

I have often wondered if he inspired Joe?
Billy was too young but he cudda held that dream for a dozen years?

I'm actually kind of disappointed that the Browns' new uniforms weren't more radical. This was a rather tame design by Nike. The Browns certainly won't be the Oregon of the NFL.

I was expecting chromatic orange, maybe some gold.

I would like to offer my sympathy to my friends who are Browns fans. These new uniforms are the height of their embarrassment, and I feel sorry for them. Thank God that my favorite team does not feel the need to make complete fools out of themselves with hideous uniforms such as we now see in Cleveland.
Sincerely,

I watched the movie Draft Day last night and when they showed a close up of the Browns' jersey I thought to myself that a classic should never be changed. It was clean, cool and classy in a color combo of their very own. Hopefully the fan backlash will be severe but I'm just an old guy who thinks uniforms were at their best in the 60s, 70s and 80s.

I'm a middle aged guy that thinks like you do. It drives me up the wall that NBA teams are allowed to wear their road (dark) unis for select home game. But back to this subject, I think the cat is out the bag on this. They'll make more silly looking uniforms, then bring back the "classics" for a home game or two.
