Wow, what a hint. I'm not sure how many people want to start finding all possible combinations that add up to 154 and then checking the common alma mater. For instance, only one player (not a quarterback) had 105 touchdowns in his career, but there were no fewer than eleven who finished with exactly 49 before retiring. It was a great trivia question, and I'll be interested in finding out which two you QBs you were thinking of. You win.

One threw 153 and the other threw 1 ... For those that want to guess or try to look it up.

I guessed half of the answer (and the school) but had to look it up to see the other QB and confirm it.

Great trivia question, the key is with how Bryan phrased it, which gave it away - to me.

New Mexico Military Institute. Roger Staubach and Tim Van Galder. Staubach was drafted in 1964 and threw his first TD pass to Lance Rentzel on 9/21/1969. Van Galder was drafted by the Cardinals in 1966. His only TD pass went to Donny Anderson on 10/29/1972.

Correct! Staubach had to go to NMMI because he failed English on the Naval Academy entrance exam. Don't really know Van Galder's story...he wound up at Iowa State after being at NMMI, but I found this line about Galder "spent three years on the St. Louis practice squad and two years in the military" which indicates he had some type of military requirement. Perhaps the most amazing part of the trivia is the fact that Van Galder was the Cardinals' 1972 opening game starter at QB and he threw only 1 TD pass in his entire NFL career.

Ron Smith in 1979, 1980, 1981. It was for the Rams. Chargers, and Eagles.
