Re: At what point will we run out of "contributers"?

At present, I can see George Young, Bobby Beathard, Gil Brandt, and Steve Sabol as worthy. Maybe Art McNally, Joe Thomas, and Paul Tagliabue if feeling generous. Not sure which if any owners belong in. A long-term future for this category exists if they expand it to include head and assistant coache...

Re: Your 2015 NFL Hall of Fame Class

This is as good a place as any to say congratulations to all those elected. Very glad for Tingelhoff especially. This was a clean- up year, and the voters again did a great job clearing some badly needed space. The voters continue to show the Baseball Hall voters how to get the job done with regular...

Re: Your 2015 NFL Hall of Fame Class

I was actually rather shocked that a guy like Haley made it with Kevin Greene on the ballot. Haley is pretty much despised by writers etc and Greene was FAR more productive and has a similar trophy case. If memory serves, Haley had a year extra as finalist under his belt, and that extra year of sen...

Re: Your 2015 NFL Hall of Fame Class

This was a now-or-not-until-he's-a-senior year for Tim Brown. Very happy to see him get in. All those years with all those gomers at QB, when the defense knew exactly where they were throwing it, and he still kept coming down with the ball. Possibly. Though next year will be another clean-up year, ...

Re: Seau all-time leading tackler?

I've got Seau as an 8 time first-team all pro (1991 and 1995 as well). And agreed about the tackles, plus it's hard to know what the standards were for determining the number.

Re: NFL 2015 Pro Football HOF Predictionsby Eric Golub

I hope they don't push Marshall, and by "they" I mean any of the voters or the Vikings. If you play 20 years you ought to be an 1st team All-pro at least once. Although there are a couple of guys in who never were 1st team All-pro, it does not mean there should be another. I admire Marsha...

Re: Interesting take on Polian

Question: contributors don't have to be retired in order to be elected, do they? Owners can be voted in while still active, so that should hold true for GMs, am guessing.

Re: Greene versus Haley for HOF

Greene over Haley because of the longer career and likely more quality seasons. Both have reasonable HoF arguments, and am fine with either getting in.

Re: Whci of the three coaches, Coryell, Johnson or Dungy?

Dungy because of the excellent W-L pct, some postseason success, fine assistant coaching, and innovator status (first successful coach of color, Tampa-2 originator). On the fence with Coryell (has innovator credit but just okay W-L pct and no postseason success). Johnson's career strikes me as too s...
