Random NFL tidbits/stats that you find interesting...
*The NFL had players named Claude Crabb (60's Rams) and Sam Seale (80's Raiders).
*The 1979 Chargers defeated both Super Bowl participants by a combined score of 75-23.
*The 1973 Falcons opened the season with a 62-7 win while racking up 32 first downs, and the next week managed only 2 first downs in a 0-31 loss. The point totals of the Falcons' first 5 games were 62, 0, 6, 9, 46, 41.
*Patriot DB Doug Beaudoin has every vowel in his last name.
*The 1977 Raiders had Stabler/Branch/Biletnikoff/Casper, yet set the NFL record with 681 rushing attempts. They had 64 attempts in a game against Buffalo, 53 against Seattle, 48 against KC, etc. Mark Van Eeghan had 324 carries, Clarence Davis 194. The Raiders only averaged 3.9 yards per carry. If Van Eeghan and Davis had matched Csonka/Morris YPC of 1972, they would have rushed for 1685 and 1028 yards.
*Two guys named DD Lewis played in the NFL. Both were OLBs. One went to Texas, the other played for the Cowboys.
*Wesley Mallard attended the University of Oregon.
*The first game Mike Livingston lost was in 1972. He started his career 10-0 (as did Mike Tomczak).
*Mike Adamle had one 100-yard rushing game in his career, and it was against the 1975 Steelers.

From 1973-80 Ken Houston played for Washington and Ted Washington played for Houston.

There has also been a Badger, a Beaver, a Buck, a Bull, a Bullocks, a Chicken, a Dragon, a Fox, a Hare, a Lamb, a Mare, a Roach, a Seal, and a Wolf in the NFL.

The NFL has had players with the last name of Eagle, Cardinal, Brown, Falcon, and Packer but none with the last name of Seahawk, 49er, Redskin or Bengal.

*From 1981-1998, the 49ers were 17-1 when they faced the Rams on the road--the only loss coming in 1986.
*From 1970-86, Don Shula was 31-3 against Buffalo; from 1987-95 (including postseason), he was 4-17.
*The first time the Browns and Packers met in a regular season game in Green Bay was 2001.
*Terry Bradshaw was tackled for a safety in each of his first three games in 1970.
*The 1972 Vikings finished 7-7 team, the only time between 1968-78 that they failed to reach the postseason, losing four games in the final minutes.
*On October 30, 1960, Frank Ryan threw a touchdown pass to ... Frank Ryan--he connected with Jon Arnett, who then lateraled to Ryan:

During the 1960-61 seasons, there were three different players in the NFL named "J.D. Smith" at the same time.
