Worst RBs/WRs with a 1000 yard season?

Do you think the NFL should list separate records for 10-, 11-, 12-, 13-, 14- 15-, 16-, and 17-game seasons? Should there also be records for those who played in only 5 or 6 games because of injury?

I would go with 12, 14, 16 (& now 17) since they had been in existence for a significant amount of time. Would it really be that difficult to do?

As for records for guys who play in a few games and get hurt, I won't dignify that with a response.

I particularly do not find 1,000 yard seasons to be very impressive. Especially in the 16 and now 17 game seasons. If you do the math, that's between 58 and 63 yards per game. Would you want a player like that on your fantasy football team?

Now, if we are talking 1,500 to 2,000 yard seasons, that's different, because the average is close to or greater than 100 yards per game, which for a long time, the "century" mark for a running back or wide receiver, has been the bench mark.

That's a decent to somewhat above average flex guy, depending on the TD rate.

Speaking of one year, rushing wonders, Derrick Ward, who had a 1000 yard season for the Giants in 2008, mentioned by Gary, has been arrested in California for robbing different businesses, including gas stations.

Since it was in LA County, and he supposedly wasn't carrying a gun, Ward will probably do little or no jail time.

As I mentioned on another post, the Seahawks from 2015 till now have had a tough time keeping running backs healthy. Kenneth Walker is their featured back now and I like him, but will struggle to get a second consecutive, 1000 yard season. Chris Carson was their last back to do it in 2018-19 but got hurt in 2020 and retired after 2021.

The worst RB who gained 1,000 yards I've seen was John Settle. I believe he was the first free agent RB to gain 1,000 yards in 1988 with the Falcons. He ran for less than 700 yards in his other 3 seasons, with less than 4 yards per carry on average.

Knowshon Moreno had a 1,000 yard season in 2013. Two years later, he was out of football.

Ronnie Brown and Carnell "Cadillac" Williams each had 1,000 yard seasons early on in their careers. After that, it was downhill from there.
