There is no question that the Eagles should have lost the Miracle of the Meadowlands Game at Giants Stadium in 1978; but there were four other games that Philadelphia lost that should have been victories.   I will gladly trade for these the Miracle of the Meadowlands and get a 12-4 record.  To elaborate.

Game 1 Los Angeles Rams at Veterans Stadium
The Rams led the 13 to 0 after three quarters.   Defensive Back Nolan Cromwell scored the only touchdown a return of a fumble.  In the fourth quarter, Ron Jaworski threw a touchdown pass to Ken Payne;  Wally Henry returned a punt for a touchdown.  However, the Eagles could not stop the Rams the final time and Frank Corral booted his third field goal.  This was a waste of a great defense performance.  Rams 14 Eagles 13.

Game 2 at RFK Stadium vs. Washington
There were allot of offensive fireworks in this game.  Both Ron Jaworski and Wilbert Montgomery put up impressive numbers  For Washington,  Mike Curtis intercepted a Jaworski pass in the Redskins' End Zone. Eagles 35 Redskins 30.

Game 9 at Veterans Stadium vs St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals had lost all eight games vs. a 4-4 record for Philadelphia. Cardinal Defensive Back Roger Wehrli killed a late Eagles drive with an interception in his End Zone.  Cardinals 16 Eagles 10.

Game 14 at Minnesota Vikings
The Eagles in the first half ran all over the Vikings for a 27 to 14 lead at halftime.   After that, Dick Vermeil was too conservative in his play calling.  Fran Tarkenton wound up passing for 228 yards and four touchdowns.  The Eagles missed an extra point which would have sent the game into overtime.  Vikings 28 Eagles 27.
