Demarcus Ware Eagle Nemisis

Post by LeonardRachiele »

DeMarcus Ware has been an Eagle Nemesis since 20066. It's is given that get he will get at least one sack in every game .  Sometimes just that one sack will make a difference.    Sacks, turnovers, and, penalties are the major determinates over who wins or looses a game.

Here are the major plays for DeMarcus against the Philadelphia Eagles:

2006
The Eagles won the first game at home in a thriller, 31 to 24.  Ware sacked Donovan McNabb causing a fumble; he picked up the ball and went 69 yards for a touchdown.  The won the second game at Dallas 23 to 7.  Ware made this one more difficult with a sack.

2007
The score keepers gave him 1.5 sacks in the 38 to 17 Eagles loss at home.  Ware's  performance was just a rock in the landslide. At  Dallas, DeMarcus Ware's sack  keep the Eagles close and made what Merrill Reese called "white knuckle time."  Philadelphia won 10 to 6.

2008
Ware's one sack was no doubt a factor the the Cowboys' 41 to 37 win at Dallas.  The second was that great 44 to 6 Eagles win on the final Sunday at Philadelphia. Terrell Owens was the only Cowboy who showed up.

2009
In the three losses to Dallas, Ware surprisingly was a non factor.

2010
The Eagles won the first game with a good mix and running and passing, 30 to 27 on the road.   The next game at home was meaningless since the Eagles had the home field advantage in the Wild Card Week wrapped up.  They had nothing to gain with a win.   The Cowboys come into the game at 5-10 but still striving for victory.   Ware was a one man wrecking crew recording three sacks and a 17 yard fumble return for a touchdown. Dallas came from behind to win 14 to 13.

2011
This year was even more amazing since the Eagles won both games easily-34 to 7 at home and 20 to 7 at Dallas. Ware  kept kept the Eagles honest with four sacks in the first and two sacks in second game.  These games would have been real blowouts without DMW.   Without those four sacks at Philadelphia, the Eagles would have thrown the Cowboys clear back to Irving.
