The last names of this starting offensive guard tandem combined for seven (7) total letters. Name the tandem!

This tandem wasn't nearly as notable as those two.

I was going to say Pat Shea and Ron Mix, but then I remembered that Mix was a tackle.

Hints: both players were from the ACC, and this tandem played together for 4 years. In the 5th year, one of the players was traded to Philadelphia in midseason.

Billy Ard of the Giants should be one.

This is on the right track it terms of era, but I don't think anyone will get this. The correct answer is the Indianapolis Colts tandem of Ben Utt and Ron Solt. Thought that was a weird name combo.

Next question...this player led his Super Bowl-winning team in TD receptions even though he only caught 16 passes. Who is this player?

Not to spoil it for anybody else, I'll just say he was a former quarterback.
