Hey Guys,

To the best of your knowledge and research, was Minnesota's 3-0 victory over Green Bay in November of 1971 the lowest scoring game of the decade in the NFL?

No, Buffalo beat Atlanta 3-0 in 1977 and Tampa Bay beat Kansas City 3-0 in 1979. There was one 3-0 game in the 1960s and none in the 1950s.

I can still remember when the Redskins beat the Cowboys 9-5 on MNF in 1978. Its still hard to believe the Skins fell off the rails later in the year.

The "oddest low score" game i remember is the Buccaneers 10-5 upset win over the Bills in 1988.

For me it's that 5-0 playoff game in 1970 -- Dallas beat Detroit, as I recall. There were several ugly playoff games that year, not just the Super Bowl.

Always found it slightly ironic that the NFL's 50-year mark (1920-70) had a 5-0 game. And that game still hurts to think about.

Imagine Giants fans from 1950, lamenting an 8-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns in the postseason after beating them twice that year ? Graham and Conerly combined for only six completions for the game ...

Watching Pittsburgh-Miami tonight comes to mind the time they played 15 years ago in MNF, when the Steelers won 3-0. Another famous 3-0 score was the Dolphins-Patriots Snowplow Game of 1982.

I remember watching the Jets 3-0 win over Washington in 1993...not really that unusual of a score to see that particular season. The game wasn't a drab a mess as people would think.

They also had a 6-0 win over New England that year in an absolute monsoon

The Jets played 3 consecutive weeks...Nov 28 through Dec 11th that season where there wasn't a single touchdown scored in those games. Not by them...not by their opponents
