Andre Johnson (I think) would be the first Houston Texans player in the HOF. I would like to see him get in. I would also like to see DeMarcus Ware get in, although I would be surprised if either made it in on the first ballot. Devin Hester was also listed.

I like seeing Randall Cunningham's name in there as well as Steve McNair as qbs. Boomer is in there as well and I always loved Boomer. I also like seeing Richmond Webb's name in there -- he is a guy that had an excellent career but you don't hear his name mentioned much.

We will see how far Hester advances ...

Glad to see Hardy Nickerson finally make the preliminary list. His career started slowly in Pittsburgh but he still was one of the best overall linebackers I have seen. With Barber and Rice probably making the HOF sooner rather than later, Nickerson probably wont make it ...

How on Goddess's Green Earth did Tom Nalen not make the list ?? He is the best eligible center in my opinion, other than Don Macek ...

Sorry, I meant Barber and Rice for the Bucs.

Tony Romo also didnt make the cut but there is no way Delhomme, Garcia, or Krieg were more deserving ...

Agreed. I also thought Tom Nalen and Herman Moore deserved to be on this list more than any of the punters.

Agree about Moore. He's probably better than at least several of the WRs on the list.

I don't see any of the QBs making it far.. Cunningham the most deserving there to me.

Good call on Moore Conace21 ... underrated and first nine seasons were somewhat similar to Calvin Johnson's.
Another omission is OT Matt Light. Had a great career for NE ...

I sometimes wonder if Herman Moore gets forgotten because Megatron came in a few years later.

I think the worst omission was Porcher who has a solid HOF case. 95.5 sacks in less than a decade, 3 pro bowls and all pros. Among 90s Lions I think he's got a better shot than Herman Moore of induction.

I know the HOF requires someone to nominate you but does this really mean major candidates with a bunch of accolades don't get considered if no one formally shoots the Hall an email?

Robert Porcher was a beast! Fantastic pass rusher. I don't know if very many people remember him, though. Still the days of regional coverage and not a lot of people outside the NFC Central viewing area got to see him play. I believe it does make a difference what teams players played on to a certain extent, simply because of the amount of exposure and coverage. Robert Porcher playing on a team that's regularly on Monday Night Football back then or a team that regularly made the playoffs, he likely would have been much better known. Great player, though.....

He has 1 more year than Moore or Brown but not getting nominated makes it hard to imagine him jumping into the top 5 in less than a decade. While he's underappreciated it's a surprise he's not a nominee every year given his stats and accolades. Someone's been nominating Jake Delhomme every year.
