Has any team scored more points in such a short period of time?

1964 KC opens at Buffalo and in the first quarter the Bills score 31 points total, but 28 in less than 3 minutes.

Kemp to Bass for a TD at 10:03 + Gogalak

After an incompletion KC fumbles the ball back on the second play after Buffalo's first TD, then . . .

Kemp to Dubenion for a TD at 11:40 + Gogalak

Gogalak's Kickoff is Fumbled and the Bills recover, then . . .

wow! If you would have told me a Bills team did that I would have guessed 1990 or 1991 but not 1964.

What's odd about that game is that the Bills only added a fourth quarter FG to win 34-17

While not as prolific as the Bills, the 1966 Browns (supposedly favored by 20+ points at home) avoided a humiliating loss to the Giants by scoring 21 points in the last four minutes to win 49-40.

Not 28, but according to the Pittsburgh Press the Giants scored 21 against the Steelers on 10/7/1945 in just 36 seconds. A TD pass, an interception and another TD pass, and then a fumble return. Here is the beginning of the article:

Related to Peanut - one of my favorite players in recent history - I'm pretty sure the 4th FF was a phantom. I used to have NFL replay that season and I went over and over trying to see a 4th FF for him in that game and just couldn't find one. Not sure if they archive these, and I don't subscribe anymore, but as I recall the play-by-play suggested it was on a play where essentially the receiver after a completed catch kind of gets seperated from the ball as going out of bounds, but it really didn't look like another FF to me.

I think the one you are probably referring to is the third one, in the second quarter:-

3-2-TEN 19 (10:30) M.Hasselbeck pass short right to C.Stevens to TEN 31 for 12 yards (C.Tillman). FUMBLES (C.Tillman), ball out of bounds at TEN 34.

I have access to the condensed version of the game via NFL Game Pass. The Titans run a naked bootleg and the QB Matt Hasselbeck dumps off to TE Craig Stevens behind the line of scrimmage. Tillman is pursuing and half tackling and half going for the ball again.
