The Cowboys and the Ravens are the only NFL teams to average more than one post-season game for every year of their existence. Dallas has had 67 in 64 seasons, Baltimore 30 in 28 seasons.

Two instances of nondescript players having the games of their lives:

On November 5, 1967, after losing their first seven games, Walter “the flea” Roberts was the hero in the New Orleans Saints first ever victory; 31-24 over Philadelphia Eagles.
Roberts scored three TD’s on a 91 yard kickoff return, a 27 yard offensive fumble return and a 49 yard pass from Gary Cuozzo. It was the only pass Roberts caught that day.

On November 12, 1967, the immortal Larry Rakestraw of the Chicago Bears threw three TD passes and ran for two others in a 34-7 demolition of the New York Giants.
All of this was accomplished on 83 yards of total offence; 7 of 16 for 75 yards passing and 5 rushes for 8 yards, even though one of his TD’s was on a 12 yard run.

Tidbit or strange omen?

In 2019 Lamar Jackson was MVP. He led the Ravens to a 14-2 record and a bye week. He sat out the last regular season game, a victory over the Steelers. The Ravens were favorites to win it all. Jackson played nearly three weeks later, one and done in a divisional loss to the Titans.

In 2023 Lamar Jackson was MVP. He led the Ravens to a 13-3 record and a bye week. He sat out the last regular season game, a loss to the Steelers. The Ravens were favorites to win it all.
Jackson played nearly three weeks later, in a playoff win over the Texans. He lost the next week in the AFC Championship.

Do not let this guy sit again in the final regular season game.
