Marijuana dispensary wants Mile High naming rights

I'm certain the NFL will step in and stop it from happening, just as it would stop a Casino or a cigarette or gun manufacturer or an organization like Playboy or Hustler from purchasing the naming rights of a stadium who does business with it. The NFL loves money just as much as any greedy corporate conglomerate, they just don't want to be associated with company who sells grass.

Of course, the league had no problem when the networks were offering ads for "male enhancement" products--until parents complained. Of course, they tried to present the image that they were misled, saying that they thought the ads would focus on men's health.

Might be wrong on this, but isn't marijuana one of the substances the NFL tests players for? If so, it would be hypocritical for the NFL to turn around and profit from this while banning its use by players. Can't see it happening.

Yes, I believe the NFL tests players for it. The NBA, if I remember correctly, does not

Sportsman's Park in St. Louis was actually renamed Budweiser Stadium when August Busch bought the St. Louis Browns in 1953 but after the new name received a lot of flak from the media as well as other beer companies, Busch changed the name to Busch Stadium a day or so later.

Busch did not buy the Saint Louis Browns. Bill Veeck (as in wreck) retained ownership of the Browns franchise
and that is a whole 'nuther story outlining the move to Baltimore where they play today as the Orioles.
Veeck sold Sportsman's Park to August Busch who had just bought the Cardinals. Prior to the Cards' upset World Series win versus the New York Yankees, St. Loo was known as "Browns' Town" and the Cardinals were tenants
of the Browns until the sale of the park.

The name Busch Stadium certainly rings the Budweiser bell.
It is doubtful anyone outside the slumbering south associates the place with baked beans.

Now, catching the stage back to Colorado... all must keep in mind that MJ is legal in that state.
Federal law enforcement has backed away from a "states' rights" conflict and the lame duck white house occupant - an admitted smoker of grass - has openly declared he has "other fish to fry."

Should the nfl attempt to superimpose its requirements on a State law, surely, one of these days, some legislator will ignore the free tickets and sky-view seats and other perks and finally institute an action that could mean
the end of the ridiculous tax-exempt status that the league enjoys. More likely, the nfl will curl its tail and
run from conflict - just as it will do with casino ownership of stadia in Nevada.
Anything else could bring the entire house of cards to a re-shuffle.

And, it might do everyone good to remember that Coors owns Colorado.
