Pretty well informed predictions, and thanks for posting. Only quibbles: not sure some of the folks he lists as first ballot (Champ Bailey, Calvin Johnson, Patrick Willis) actually will be. It's a long shot, but any or all of Mike Kenn, Sam Mills, and Karl Mecklenburg might sneak in under the wire. Unsure if Hines Ward gets in. Also not certain TO gets in next year since he was in the first cutdown from 15 to 10.

Can anyone here seperate John Lynch from Joey Browner who doesn't get a sniff from the committee. If he weren't white and a commentator would he get consideration? Seems odd to me that after years of neglect suddenly there's all this focus on Safties, but they're doing it wrong by forcing in recent guys who are borderline rather than fixing sins of the past - hello, Easley!

I'd be much happier with Atwater and Lynch out and Dawkins, Reed and Troy in, and please put Easley in.

I think Browner should be in the HoF, but presumably (and unfortunately) he'll be joining worthies Deron Cherry and Kenny Easley in the Senior pool next year. But I'm fine with Lynch and Atwater as well, not to mention Dawkins, Reed, and Polamalu who along with Easley are the small-hall guys. There's also Leroy Butler and Darren Woodson, both of whom have a lot of eligibility left, 10 and 12 years respectively. If they're reasonably efficient about it, they ought to be able to elect Lynch/Atwater/Dawkins/Reed/Polamalu. I say get as many in as you can now; the fewer worthies you can dump in the Senior pool, the better.

Couldn't agree with this more.

Is kasczmak an actual voter?

I do read Football Outsiders but didn't realize any of them have votes. I'll respectfully, emohasis on respectfully, say most of the and the Pro Football Focus guys at least a knowledge in articles that this is 2007 tk Dat or 1991 to Dat or otherwise. But I don't know that j want any of those guys picking Lynch over Browner or Dawkins o er Cherry, the latter being admittedly tight - i watched them both. I know kashmir and florio, et al didn't.

Kacsmar is not a voter. This is good because he has stated he doesn't care about any football stuff that occurred before 1950.

Lynch is kind of golden boy, though qualified. Browner gets nothing. However, disagree on Atwater. But Easley, yes. Reed and Dawkins and Troy, IMO no-brainers.

Atwater had two signature plays, the hit on Okoye, and the point-blank pick of Jay Schoeder. Also, as good a hitter as Lynch.

Lynch was a good hitter, a cover-2 safety that didn't get a lot of picks. No crime if he gets in but Easley over both Lynch and Atwater.

But, if I had to pick one over the other in terms of Broncos: Gradisher over Arwater. As you wrote, Gradishar goodly number of MVP shares as he was 3rd in 1977 and got votes in other years besides his landslide win in 1978

No, this is his "plan"

John, question. When you say "Browner gets nothing," what do you mean by that? Do you mean "not qualified?" Just curious.

Personally, I think he's qualified, though definitely in the big-hall category. Deron Cherry, too.
