Its early in the 2015 season, but regular season overtime games are at a record pace. Of the 91 games so far, 9 have gone to overtime (9.89%). The previous season with the highest percentage was 2002, when 25 of the 256 games went to overtime (9.77%). Other seasons with at least 8% are:
2003-8.98% (23 of 256)
1995-8.75% (21 of 240)
2012-8.59% (22 of 256)
1983-8.48% (19 of 224)

At that pace, the record could be broken before the conclusion of the 6th week of play.
It will be just another number for the stats-mongers who will have moronic explanations as to why.
