I picked up some magazines from the Great Lakes Naval Training Station from 1918 and 1919 which cover the 1918 football season, ending in a victorious trip to the Rose Bowl - if anyone is interested, here are the articles

I could not find this issue of the magazine (February) but it was on Google books

Excellent! Thanks for sharing, Mike.

The year before, Fort Lewis (WA) was in - and unfortunately lost - the Rose Bowl.

side note: I worked for a year on base at Fort Lewis (now known as JBLM) building the new barracks and doing the remodel of Madigan hospital.

I sent a similar message to Mike with a list of all the Threads posted thus far that were started by him. I also mentioned there were a few more that would be posted. Those posted last evening had a number of entries by Mike. There are a few more remaining and he knows this. Now that I have the list of posted threads in a data base, it will be easy to extract those initiated by any poster. By Friday, I will be able to send him up-dated list although the up-dated Master will not be posted here until it has about 150-or-so. If you want it sooner, let me know.

A lot of us are "scratching" and wishing we had saved links / photos / pictures / etc but we hardly had a chance to do what we did.
You had one of the highest number of posts here - somewhere approaching 2,000. I know how hard it was for me to save 300+ and I have wondered how you made out?
We can only do our best - in all endeavors.
