In 1933 the kick off was scheduled for 1:45 (I don't own the stub, just have the scan)

By the way - here is the auction result for this stub
Minimum Bid: $100 Final Bid(Includes Buyers Premium): $14,612 Number of Bids: 35

It makes this program I bought seem like a bargain

It's interesting that the first two 4:00 pm games were held in Los Angeles, perhaps to be broadcast on national TV at 7:00 pm Eastern-- yet none of the east coast games of the 1950s and 1960s were set for prime time. Of course, a late winter afternoon tends to be warmer in L.A. than in most places

Ah, I skipped right past the note at the beginning -- "All times EST"-- safe to say, then, that the start time was usually 1:00 pm local, with the occasional game that started at 1/2 past the hour.

If the 1968 NFL Title game was at 2:00, then what time did the Jets and Raiders play at Shea? I always assumed that the NFL Title Game that year was a 4:00 start.

Kickoffs for the Championship Games for 1968:
Raiders-Jets 1:00 on NBC.
Colts-Browns 2:30 on CBS.

Yes, there was obvious overlap. So for at least an hour, maybe an hour and a half, the two games were on simultaneously.
