Are you sure? I peeked at the answer on p-f-r and it looks like Marino is the 4th. Although the other QB I'm seeing may have an asterisk attached to him, which you may be taking into consideration.Correct! Conerly was the first rookie to have 20+ TD passes...Marino was the third rookie to have 20+ TD passes....the remaining QB came in between Conerly and Marino.

I am not including AAFC rookie seasons...if that is what you are referring to. Very intriguing.ChrisBabcock wrote:Are you sure? I peeked at the answer on p-f-r and it looks like Marino is the 4th. Re: Inane trivia for 2018
I guessed Conerly before checking PFR. Depending on your criteria, Marino and Kelly could both make the list of 3....or neither one would make the list.
It sounds like you're following the NFL record book as far as stats included.
I'll let someone try and guess #3. I had barely heard of him.

That is correct. I figured that would be the most prudent record book to rely upon, considering how its 'official'. To me, there is nothing worse on this forum than dealing with a hardcore PFRA "Truther" who 'argues' that the Minnesota Vikings won the 1969 NFL title, or who would argue that Jim Kelly was the third rookie QB to throw 20+ TD passes.conace21 wrote:I guessed Conerly before checking PFR. I never considered myself hardcore and there are many, many (virtually all) here who are more accomplished football scholars... but last time I looked the Vikings did win the '69 NFL Championship (and then got disassembled by the Chiefs in Super Bowl IV).Bryan wrote: To me, there is nothing worse on this forum than dealing with a hardcore PFRA "Truther" who 'argues' that the Minnesota Vikings won the 1969 NFL title...

Since nobody has gotten it, the 3rd name is Butch Songin for the 1960 AFL Patriots. He was a 36 year old rookie who had spent time in the CFL.
George Ratterman also threw 20+ TD's for the AAFC's Bills in his first year out of Notre Dame.

I've got a "name the game" that I posted awhile back but I think it got lost in the shuffle....
In this game, a possibly future HOVG linebacker sacked a Hall Of Fame QB on his first ever NFL career play. The linebacker’s team was coached by a Hall Of Fame coach. The Hall Of Fame QB had no other future Hall Of Fame teammates on this particular day.

Uh . . . but they DID win the 1969 NFL title. It's kind of an indisputable fact.Bryan wrote: To me, there is nothing worse on this forum than dealing with a hardcore PFRA "Truther" who 'argues' that the Minnesota Vikings won the 1969 NFL title,
