Too overused, currently. We've got to wait a decade until everyone forgets about it then the PFRA can claim it as our rally cry and point back to 2017 when Roethlisberger said it in a game -- so it's football related and not a commercial.

Got it too. When I saw "cabal", "scribblers", "lurkers" and "KKK", I immediately thought of Phil Wilson.

I suppose I should personally apologize for cluttering up this organization with all my talk about women’s football. I didn’t realize that one Coffin Corner article and one lone thread on the topic 18 months ago were so memorable a year and a half later.

I’ve been a PFRA member off and on since 2012, when I wrote my book about Duke Slater. But I don’t comment much here because I primarily write about college sports. Outside of a few small overlapping areas of expertise which might interest this forum – like Slater, who I came to write about mostly because I was familiar with his college exploits – I have very little insight to offer the community here. And unlike some, I tend not to say anything unless I feel I’m contributing something of substance.

On that note, here’s a statement of substance: it’s women’s football, not girls’ football. Females cease to be girls when they turn 18, which is why it’s girls’ basketball in high school but women’s basketball in college. I find it somewhat amusing that someone who criticizes PFRA leadership for the group’s supposed lack of racial diversity would proceed to spout misogynistic slights in their next breath. Apparently racism troubles him, but sexism is a-OK.

One last thing: critics can say whatever they want about me. I can handle that. But bringing my wife into it...that's just incredibly low class.

I didn't know we had a cabal.

I thought we were an autonomous collective.
I told you ... we're a anarcho-syndicalist commune.

Never stopped me!
Didn't Phil once post a link here to an Isis jihadi execution vid?

Turns out we're a bunch of wannabes lacking credibility for having never played the sport at a 1A or professional level ... We should all be ashamed.

All long-time members of this forum know who it is that sent the email, so there is no need to mention him again. We also all know that the bulk of the email was fabricated.

However, while we do not endorse personal slurs, we are always welcome to hear how we can improve the PFRA. You can contact me through the forum or by email: Ken_Crippen@KenCrippen.com. Whether members agree or disagree with the way things are run by myself or the board of directors, we have never hidden from the membership and never will. The board of directors only wants what is best for the membership and will do what we can to make sure that we provide that to the membership. The board is made up of strictly volunteers who use their time and money to help the PFRA in any way that we can. We appreciate all of your support, and we will always engage with the membership to do what is best for the organization.

Hi - Just posting partly to see if everything works. Ken just approved my registration. From the email address (pfra.review@yahoo.com), at first I thought it was an official organization address, although I suppose anyone can pick any name for a yahoo account.

I'm sure some of the PFRA members are SABR members, as well, and SABR veterans remember this kind of stuff on occasion although things have settled down nicely there.

For whaddever it's worth, I enjoy my PFRA membership and enjoy the Coffin Corner, which I read and pass on to a co-worker who enjoys it, too. Maybe I can get him to join. I do more research in baseball than in other sports, but I enjoy reading the research of others. Thanks to pfra.review@yahoo.com, I was prompted to get on this forum. This should be a good place to post questions or research interests when I have them, and I will do that.

I replied to pfra.review@yahoo.com and said his rant would have more credence if he signed his name to it. I thought I might get a reply but wasn't surprised when I didn't.

Thanks to all of you who contribute to football research. I hope to be able to do so, as well, and I will sign my name:

Stew "Rocky" Thornley
I'm not *7_7_7_7* although that would be a cool handle since it's Mickey Mantle's number - and Mickey did play football, too. Supposedly that's how he got osteomyletis.

Welcome to the forum Rocky. Hope you join in on the conversations going on here. I've learned a lot here over the years and hope the others here have learned a lot from me. As you can see from the topics in the forum, we keep the conversations focused on football.
