The game is Sunday, September 30, 2001 Kansas City Chiefs at Washington Redskins. The Chiefs won, 45-13.
Starting QBs with Super Bowl rings - Trent Green for Kansas City (ring with 1999 St. Louis Rams) and Tony Banks for Washington (ring with 2000 Ravens). Trent Green formerly played for Washington in 1997 and 1998, where he started 14 games over those two seasons.
Kansas City's backup QB, Todd Collins saw action, going 3 of 4 for 40 yards and rushing twice for 6 yards. Collins later played for Washington in 2007 and 2009.
Priest Holmes had the "hat trick", recording two rushing touchdowns, and hauling in a receiving score, for a total of three touchdowns. Holmes was a member of the 2000 Ravens, and a Raven from 1997-2000.
Kansas City's second to last TD was scored on a 3-yard pass from Trent Green to Tony Gonzalez. Gonzalez had 111 career receiving touchdowns.
The Chief who scored the team's final TD was Chris Thomas, a 3-yard pass from Green, his only career touchdown.
Rod Gardner scored Washington's only touchdown on a 26-yard pass from Banks. Gardner played for the Chiefs later on, in 2009.
The Redskins' coach was Marty Schottenheimer, who coached Kansas City from 1993-1998.

I did some quick research. It seems players on IR can get Super Bowl rings (though they dont have to.)
Apparently Jeff Fisher has one from the 1985 Bears. I think Green would be more likely to receive a ring than not, being a quarterback.
I'm not totally sure how it works in the NFL, but in MLB usually (if not always) any player who played for the World Series champion at any point in the regular season would get a ring. So-and-so may have only pitched in 2 games in May but he pitched 3 total innings and contributed something to the team. There have been a couple of occasions of a player appearing in the World Series against a team he played for earlier in the year. Lonnie Smith is one example. Whether his current team won the World Series or not, Smith was getting a World Series ring.
