A related question: What player's only completion one season was a 98-yard touchdown pass? I believe only one guy qualifies, but maybe one of you will come up with somebody else.

PFR must only go back so far. Gaynell "Gus" Tinsley had a 97 yard touchdown reception in 1937, and a 98 yard touchdown reception in 1938.

Nah, my bad. Appears to be a few more than I originally thought I saw. I'm working with old eyeballs :)

Not bad for what one might have called a "possession receiver" back in the day. Steve Watson was excellent and quite underrated.

Doug Russell fits that bill. If you're not thinking of him, I'm guessing it's likely someone else in the single wing era.

Yes! Russell is the one. I believe that 98-yarder set the record for longest TD pass, and then Frank Filchock completed a 99-yarder to somebody (Andy Farkas, maybe) in 1939.
