These are, IMO, the essential 5

Al Wistert-- an homage to Bob Carroll
Ox Emerson--numbers impressive for good team...
LaVern Dilweg
Verne Lewellen
Duke Slater

Cecil Isbel---I don't think it'd be fair for a 3rd Packer
Excellent rankings john my rankings would be

Al Wistert

Duke Slater

Verne Lewellen

Lavern Dilweg

Ox Emerson

It would be funny/ironic if Roger Craig made it into the Hall of Fame the same year he was voted into the Hall of (the) Very Good.

I am assuming that never happened before... ?

I had Dilweg, Emerson, and Youngstrom on my all-time two-way team, so hoping those two get in. Rooting for Lewellen and Slater, but at the same time, there isn't a shortage of backs or tackles from the era.

I wasn't expecting Isbel - couldn't help but think being a Packer may have something to do with it - playing for a defunct team I don't think helps at all, nor pre-NFL.

I thought the same - I have no issue with the choice overall - but for the 100 year class, I would have just done super seniors - maybe 10 with 5 getting in. Because if this winds up like the 100 year team with 10% or less super seniors, we'll just get one - hopefully not, but who knows.

I'd go with: 1. Wistert 2. Dilweg 3. Slater 4. Lewellen 5. Emerson (off the top of my head, I'd call this fifth spot a tossup between Emerson and his teammate George Christensen, but nobody seems to be pushing Christensen)

Mainly, I'd like to see at least four of these guys go in.

That's a good list. I might move Pearson and Branch above Karras and Shell, but I'd keep Gradishar where you have him.
