I just realized Kansas City scored 22 pts, same as 49ers last year. This is the first time ever that losing teams scored 22 pts in back-to-back SBs. So, like many of you would, I wondered if that happened before that losing teams had the same score in consecutive years.
The only other two times the losing team had the same score two straight years was Colts and Vikings with 7 in Super Bowls 3 and 4, Washington and Minnesota in 7 and 8.
First time since the 1970s this has happened! And the only time it hasn't included Minnesota.
If you're wondering about winning teams - Raiders and 49ers scored 38 in Super Bowls 18 and 19. New Orleans and Green Bay scored 31 in 44 and 45. KC and Tampa scored 31 in 54 and 55.
Third time ever losing team had same score two years in a row. First time ever it wasn't 7 pts.

We also came very close to a Scorigami. 40-22 had happened only once in NFL history before. Unfortunately we couldn't get a garbage touchdown out of Kenny Pickett that would have given us a 47-22 score and the first Super Bowl Scorigami since XLVIII (43-8).
