And I will still bet against the Packers. I'm not saying that Jacobs is a "missing piece", but the Packers need somebody in the running back position who did similar to what Aaron Jones was capable of doing. Jacobs has played great this year. He's often been injury prone, but he's stayed healthy this year. Probably a career year for him, at least so far.
I'm not sure what you mean by a "meaningful" NFL game. He played in the playoffs for the Raiders. And he played in big games in college with Alabama. And don't be tricked into thinking that just because a player hasn't played a "meaningful" NFL game doesn't mean he can't excel in one. If a meaningful game is a conference championship or Super Bowl, many players have excelled in their first championship or Super Bowl. But he's played in a playoff game and games that determined whether a team made the playoffs.
I don't really know if the Packers can get to the conference championship this year - it would take a combination of luck and other teams making mistakes, IMHO.

We'll get a better handle on GB tonite. Could be a barn-burner in Detroit. Lions DL and LB corps have been decimated by injuries. Detroit has one of the toughest remaining schedules, so I'm not expecting them to finish as top NFC seed. They may not even win the division. Last game is w/ the Vikes---showdown time?

If GB loses tonight considering all of DET’s injuries…… I don’t want to hear any excusesRichardBak wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 7:59 am We'll get a better handle on GB tonite. The 2024 NFC North truly might be one of the all-time great divisions. Lions 11-1, Vikings 10-2, Packers 9-3. 3 of these teams' 6 losses are to each other. I don't know if I can remember a situation like this so deep into the season in my lifetime.

Depends on how long your lifetime is. I was a huge AFL fan, and I remember how incredibly tight the 1968 Western Division race was going into the final two weeks of the season.JameisBrownston wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 4:01 pm The 2024 NFC North truly might be one of the all-time great divisions. Week 13 saw Oakland and KC tied at 10-2, followed by San Diego at 9-3. So, a combined 29-7 record. Four of the losses were to each other and the other 3 were to Joe Willie's Jets.
Oakland and KC finished tied at 12-2, then Raiders stomped Chiefs in special tie-breaker to finish 13-2. That dropped KC to a final 12-3 while SD finished 9-5, both losses coming at the hands of the Raiders and Chiefs. Combined record of 34-10, with 7 losses to each other and the other 3 to the Jets. Joe Willie's Jets continued to bedevil the West by beating Raiders in AFL title game. That would make for a final record of 34-11 for Oakland, KC, and SD, with 7 losses to each other and the other 4 to the Jets.
There was similar scenario with the 1951 National (Western) Conference with 4 teams all having a shot at the division on the final day of the season: Detroit, SF, Bears, and Rams. However, their combined record wasn't as gaudy as the 2024 North trio of Detroit, GB, and Minn. or the 1968 AFL West.

1984 AFC West had DEN/SEA/Raiders all with 10+ wins in early December

I forgot to add---had SD won their last 2 games of the season in '68, the Chargers, Chiefs, and Raiders would've all finished 11-3. This would have created the first round-robin playoff in pro FB history.

Campbell's gonna give me a damn heart attack one of these games. Anyway, an entertaining game and Detroit now stands 12-1. Sounds funny to say this about a team that gave up 31 points, but the Lions' D (for Decimated) played well. Now they have 10 days to prepare for Josh Allen and the Bills. Who knows? They might meet again in Feb.

A great night for Patrick, who couldnt stay healthy in Denver. Packers had their chances but I feel regardless of Buffalo--and a loss might actually help Detroit--they should wrap up the division by beating Chicago but like Richard said, could come down to the Vikings game, instead.
