Game 9 Chicago Cardinals-Steelers won 27 to 20.

The Steelers came into Comiskey Park and defeated the Chicago Cardinals 27 to 20, going above .500 to 5-4. As usual, Ollie Matson had a great day against the Steelers. He returned the opening kickoff 101 yards for a touchdown and added 127 yards of total offense during the game. Joe Childress caught seven passes from M.C. Reynolds for 83 yards.

Bobby Layne completed 26 of 28 passes for 352 yards and a touchdown. Tom Tracy caught five passes for 125 yards and Jimmy Orr caught three passes for 78 yards. With four minutes left in the game, the Cardinals drove to the Steeler 22 and the score tied at 20. Future HOF Jack Butler intercepted a pass from M.C. Reynolds and returned it to the Steelers 22. On the very next play, Bobby Layne threw a 78 yard touchdown pass to Jimmy Orr for the winning score. Final Steelers 27 Cardinals 20.

Game 10-The Chicago Bears at Pitt Stadium-Steelers won 24 to 10.

Tom Tracy carried 17 times for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Jimmy Orr caught five passes for 163 yards and a touchdown. Dick Alban and Joe Lewis-each had one interception. Pittsburgh was now 6-4.

Game 11-Saturday National Telecast

Baltimore Colts at Los Angeles Rams-The Rams won 30 to 28. The Baltimore Colts came in at 9-1, having already clinched the Western Division crown. The Rams were 6-4.

Johnny Unitas completed 23 of 38 passes for 214 yards with three touchdowns but also three interceptions, which were the keys to the win. Alan Ameche carried 16 times for 92 yards and a touchdown. Lenny Moore caught six passes for 52 yards and touchdown. Raymond Beery caught eight passes for 78 yards and a touchdown.

For the Rams, Bill Wade completed 11 of 26 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns. Del Schofner caught five passes for 175 yards and a 69 yard touchdown. Interceptions: Dick Daugherty one for twelve yards and touchdown; Jack Morris one for 44 yards and a touchdown; and Les Richter for 16 yards.

At Washington, the Redskins and Steelers tied 14. This broke Pittsburgh's five game winning streak
