Jake Bates won Saturday's UFL opener with a 64-yard field goal. It was his first professional place kick, since the UFL does not have conversion kicks after TDs.
Can anyone think of another place kicker whose first professional field goal attempt was a successful 64-yarder? Or longer? I can't think of one.
I realize the UFL is not the NFL, but this seems like a special moment in pro football history.

Also was impressive that he did it twice -- timeout on first attempt.
Re: Bates' UFL field goal
It wasn't 64 yards, but Bert Rechichar"s first career FG attempt was a then-NFL record 56 yarder.

Considering no one hit a 64-yarder until 2021, probably not.

I once saw my dad kick my brother in the ass after he came home with a dent in his brand new Dodge. I swear he sailed at least 60 yards.
However, with four knucklehead sons, it wasn't my dad's first kick.
