Two dumb USFL tidbits

Post by Bryan »

1) The Chicago Blitz in 1984 had Dennis Shaw as their backup QB. Shaw last played football in 1975.

2) Luther Bradley of the Blitz played two games against the Tampa Bay Bandits in 1983. In those two games, Bradley intercepted Bandit QBs 8 times.

Those are some really interesting factoids. In the April 2, 1983 Blitz at Bandits game, John Reaves served up four of Luther Bradley's record six interceptions. Jimmy Jordan contributed two more in the 42-3 thrashing:

IIRC Dennis Shaw was the 3rd QB for the Chiefs in 1978, but didn't play a down. It appears on Kansas City's roster in my old 1979 GamePlan Pro Football Magazin.e
