If you're looking for an individual item on dvd (i.e. 1966 Chargers HLs) you want the Special Order catalogue from NFL Films. Google NFL Films or NFL.com and you will see the top headline is "How to special order from NFL Films". This is where all the team HLs, GOTWs and TWIPF shows are. Pricey at $50 a pop...but you can find a ton of stuff. I'd go to eBay to look for boxed sets or the release of old material like "Legends Of Autumn" which has a good dose of 1960s productions. Rare Sportsfilms has a nice collection of '50-'60s NFL material available on dvd, You can go to their website or order on eBay.

There are DVD box sets of all (or at least most) of the Super Bowls -- with the nice bonus of the season-in-review programs for each year.

When it comes to rarer programs, there's a thriving community of traders, and a few folks willing to stick their necks out by selling on eBay or Buy.com.

As for NFL Films music, just look up Dave Volsky's channel on YouTube. The guy has amassed an absolutely unreal number of themes not just from NFL Films, but also KPM, DeWolfe, etc. Blessedly, the NFL has left him alone.

Dave Volsky's channel is simply astonishing, for what he has amassed in the way of NFL Films music, not just the Sam Spence stuff, but the KPM (British instrumental jazz) that NFL Films used quite a bit also in the late 60's and in the early 70's. And while we're on the subject of Sam Spence, he did a lot of classic work for NFL Films, and I'm not going to knock him in any way, but he was not the only composer who worked for NFL Films, there was Martha Jane Weber and Tony Luisi and William Loose to name a few, but Sam Spence often gets credited for outstanding music that a lot of other people were actually responsible for. Spence was responsible for many of the most famous pieces of music from NFL Films, but not all of them.

He's uncovered a ton of material...KPM tracks that were a staple of NFL Films. It's funny to hear that stuff in other contexts, like the beginning of Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. (I picture the '67 Oilers) MLB and Tel Ra drew heavily from that catalogue during the early '70s as well.

Spence wrote some great material, unfortunately by the mid-to-late-'70s a lot of their material was marred by electronic gimmickry.

Hamilton Books usually carries a number of discount sports books and dvd's (new). I recently picked up the Packers 10 Greatest Games dvd set for only $7.95. In their search box just type in the name of a person, team,
league or sport (search results can vary.) I've been buying from them since 1984.

Oldies.com is another option:

The Sam Spence music on YouTube is great, but avoid the comments section since every idiot seems to focus on how the same music was used in SpongeBob SquarePants--which I assume PO'ed Sam, though I assume he had no say in how his hard work was prostituted.
