In the second shot, it looks like they are wearing yellow satin-ish jerseys. . . on the one I did, it was hard to tell, but they looked more white, but I bet they were yellow. I also need to make pants darker

Typo in the blog-- they were the Frankford Yellow Jackets. Frankfurt had the football team in NFL Europe.

The first image doesn't show up for me. Is there text there that explains what this is?

All it says is <image>


Now I see the image. Was there an explanation of this game/exhibition earlier and I missed it?

It was a halftime exhibition is my understanding

It was indeed a halftime "exhibition", although it was mostly a comedy routine rather than an actual exhibition. The team of Lady Yellow Jackets scrimmaged at halftime against two old men; one of those men was Uncle Joe Beeson, pictured in Moran's photograph. That one I'd never seen...pretty amazing to see them with Joe Carr, regardless.
