His was notable because he was a buddy of the President's son or something; I saw his obit last night and looked him up.

According to this article, Ed Hussman (former Chicago Cardinal, Dallas Cowboy, Houston Oiler, and Edmonton Eskimo) died on Aug 30 in Austin, TX. He was 87:

Ray Kubala, former center with the Denver Broncos died on August 30, at the age of 75.

Jim Houston, former linebacker and defensive end with the Cleveland Browns died September 11, at the age of 80.

Keith Nord, former defensive back with the Minnesota Vikings died on September 19, at the age of 60.

Tommy McDonald- Pro Football Hall of Famer. Former wide received with the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Rams, Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns, died on September 24, at the age of 84.

Sorry to hear about Tommy's passing. By unfortunate coincidence, I've watched several of his career highlight films in the past week. It's ridiculous that he had to wait 30 years to be inducted into the HOF.

Tommy McDonald was a famous player of the 1960's. I remember a quote from Sonny Jurgensen, recalling complaints that he threw to often to McDonald when both were with the Eagles. Sonny said something like:

"They said I threw to much to Tommy McDonald. Who did they want me to throw to, the guards and tackles?"
