You know what? The '16 Pats, as true-enough a 21st Century champ they are, I really ought to place the '03 and especially '04 installments above them. That defense (the real 'stars' of that 3-in-4-year Title run); and they did go back-to-back! My bad. How about I move them just beneath the '01 Rams?

Maybe I am not doing this right--are we ranking on regular season only?

I know the question is ranking the 14-2 teams, but if a team didn't win SB
then they didn't finish--and playoffs are part of the season---

So, I excluded the 2001 Rams--they lost--

But when you rank them are we to go by regular season or
reg season playoffs combined but give SB wins and losses whatever weight
we think they deserve?

Again. I could be wrong, but if a team goes 14-2 and does not win then
it would rank below all otehr 14-2 teams that won the Super Bowl

I think from a statistical standpoint, the 91 Redskins would be #1. They just dominated everyone that season. I think the top 3 would be 91 Skins, 89 Niners and then probably the 78 Steelers.

It’s always both regular and post. If you feel a non-SB-qualifier should be ahead of one that made the SB, or place a SB-loser over a winner, then that’s up to you. 2001 Rams a strong SB-runnerup. They not beating the Pats in ’01, and both ’03/’04 Pats teams being even stronger yet, makes me place those back-to-back teams above Rams. No rhyme or reason. No rules to stick with. It all depends.

As we know, many place ’68 Colts and ’07 over teams that actually won-it-all. And some don’t.

I get your point but the Super Bowl is one game though vs what happened the entire season. I don't think the 2011 Giants were better than the Patriots that year. Or better than the 49ers either. Could be that one team just matched up better.
