Re: Obscure trivia

I was the number one draft choice for the same team two years in a row. The first time I was drafted, I was a junior and not eligible. The next year that same team drafted me but I never wanted to play in the NFL and didn't. What's more amazing is this wasn't done by Daniel Snyder I won't give this...

Re: Obscure trivia

This QB played in 106 games over a 10-year career. Through his first 9 years, he compiled a winning record as a starting QB. In his final season, he doubled his career loss total to finish with a sub-.400 career winning percentage. Name the QB. How about a hint -- just a broad one -- about the era ...

Hey, I think you're right!

Ooh, good one. He beat Snead to it by ten years or so. And oddly enough, they shared two of their three teams; both made it while with the Eagles and the Redskins.

Ah, I see. Thanks.

Purdy's draft position

OK, Purdy was the last player drafted; that seems clear. But on the game last night I believe they said he was the 262nd player taken, and I can't figure out how that would work. I thought the draft was seven rounds, for 32 teams, so that's 224 players in a given year. Or if it's eight rounds, that ...

Re: Semi-Pros in the Super Bowl

I would find it interesting to know, of the stated players and coaches, who went in what direction. Who played Semi-Pro or Minor League ball before making it to the Super Bowl and who did so later. I would imagine older ex-NFL players "going down" to the Minors might be more common than a...

Yes! I should've said that myself.

Re: Semi-Pros in the Super Bowl

Brad Johnson played in the World League of American Football -- or maybe it was called NFL Europe by then. Whichever.
