Re: 2023/24 Super Bowl

Oh, I'm not advocating for some kind of best-of series for the NFL. For one thing, the playoffs would go on until Easter. I don't think there'd be anybody standing at the end. That said, if would be interesting to imagine the '68 Jets and Colts playing a 7-game series. I wonder how that would turn o...

Re: 2023/24 Super Bowl

I long ago came to the conclusion that, more often than not, the best team doesn't win the championship. Too many variables--weather, bad calls, lucky bounce, playoff seeding, injuries, etc.---that are out of a team's control and cancel out the opponent's superior talent. I don't think some of the N...

Re: Obscure trivia

My guess would be George Taliaferro. He moved around a lot in the 1950s (at least 3-4 teams) but was always a standout. This is correct! 3 pro bowls, 3 teams, 3 years. 51 Yanks, 52 Texans, 53 Colts I eagerly await my case of Labatts and double ring of kielbasa (fresh, not smoked) from the prize com...

Re: JOE NAMATH vs LEN DAWSON

Of course it's not Joe WIllie.

It's Zeke Bratkowski. He's wearing Packer green. Side note: Like what you've done with your hair, Zeke!

Re: JOE NAMATH vs LEN DAWSON

...and he wore white shoes! The horror of it! (Now that I think about it, so did my dad, with a powder blue leisure suit and white belt, straight off the rack at Montgomery Wards. Ahhh, dem were da days.) At least my leisure suit was nave blue. I think mine was J.C. Penny but same difference. (And ...

Re: 2023/24 Super Bowl

Actually, right at the end when Kelce was struggling at about the 3 yd line, I was thinking, "Go down, hoss." I thought one of the 4 or 5 guys pounding him was gonna pop the ball loose. SF recovers, game over.

Re: 2023/24 Super Bowl

Well, early in this thread I did have KC winning by 3 (predicted 34-31) and Mahomes putting together the late winning drive (well, duh, who else--Zeke Bratkowski?). Didn't name the MVP cuz I thought that was self-evident. I mean, how often is the SB MVP not the winning QB? I would've loved to have s...
