Re: Books on the Steelers Dynasty
Thanks for the suggestions, "Their Life's Work" looks pretty good, I may take you up on that! Just curious why you found it a bit depressing? Some of the book is a "where are they now", and many of those 1970's Steelers players aren't in good shape. I loved this SI article (by P...

Re: Now Isaac Curtis "Changed football" and I missed it some
In that discussions that follow that tweet, the originator talks about an Issac Curtis rule. What the heck is/was that?

Re: Your first NFL watching memories
First NFL game attended - Minnesota's 39-14 win over the Redskins in 1980 at RFK. I remember watching that game. My Redskins had won two in a row and there was a belief that they were starting to come around to 1979 form. Then 3-5 Vikings came to town for a late afternoon game and beat the brakes o...

Re: Your first NFL watching memories
I recall the aftermath of Super Bowl VII with everyone in my household being disappointed that the Redskins lost. I was 5 at the time. Then it disappears and my next memory is the end of Super Bowl IX. Don't remember much about watching the game beside it ending. Super Bowl X was my 1st watching ye...

Re: Tom Keating: odd career
For the Steelers, I think they picked up Keating due to Ernie Holmes and the helicopter incident. Holmes status was up in the air for 73 season. In the book "A Few Bricks Shy of a Load" the author mentions that Holmes wasn't all that happy with the Keating acquisition and Ernie said someth...

Re: Your favorite, and least-favorite, Miami Super Bowl?
Interesting that all of the Colts Super Bowls have been played in Miami. Also when they wore their blue jerseys, they lost. When they wore white, they won. But back to your original post.
Super Bowl X is my favorite.
Super Bowl XXIX is my least-favorite.
Super Bowl X is my favorite.
Super Bowl XXIX is my least-favorite.

Re: Super Bowl 54 discussion
50 years ago the Chiefs won Super Bowl IV. 25 years after that, the 49ers won Super Bowl XXIX. Now 25 years after that the Chiefs and the 49ers play for Super Bowl LIV. I post all that to say it means nothing but I found it interesting.

George Perles
George Perles, former head coach of Michigan State, and Chuck Noll's D-line coach and eventually DC passed away at age of 85. Article says he created the stunt 4-3 but I thought that was Joe Greene. Probably a collaborative effort. If anybody has an answer post it please. https://www.freep.com/story...
