Re: Toughest/Easiest schedules in football history

Once again I think of the 2008 Arizona Cardinals. They were 9-7 and played six of their games with teams in their Division. Most of their losses were blowouts. Recall these: 34 to 10 vs Vikings; 47 to7 vs Patriots; 48 to 20 vs Eagles

Re: 1973 Raiders

How Curt Gowdy lasted so long was really a mystery. His sleep inducing play by play showed a dullness that left me flat. His main, though by no means all, of his assignments were 1960-1961 NCAA Game of the Week on ABC; 1962-1965 AFL Games on ABC; 1965-1969 NFL Games on NBC; after the 1970 merger Pro...

Re: 1973 Raiders

In the second week of the season, Oakland broke Miami's 18 game winning streak with a 12 to 7 victory, This was one of their biggest wins in history. The Raiders held the Dolphins scoreless until the last 30 seconds of play. It was a big game for George Blanda as well. It was his 46th birthday and t...

Pittsburgh Steelers I 1958

1958 I The Steelers went to San Francisco for the first game of the season. It was cost prohibitive, at that time, for CBS to telecast the game to Pittsburgh. Instead fans saw the New York Giants play the Chicago Cardinals. This was a home game for the Cardinals played at War Memorial Stadium in Buf...

Thanksgiving at Dallas 2014 Eagles Win 33 to 10

he Eagles defeated the Dallas Cowboys as shown above raising their record to 9-3. This game, however, was the beginning of the end for Chip Kelley as the Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. They would lose three consecutive games before defeating the New York Giants. The resulting 10-6 record was...

Pittsburgh Steelers in 1957

About two months before the subject season, Buddy Parker announced he was leaving the Detroit Lions and was headed to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers were 6-6 in 1957 with a great defense but an offense that was mediocre to say the best. There were two stand out games. The Steelers played the ...

Tom Miner 1958

Tom Miner was a great offensive end who was as equally effective on defense … led the Hurricanes in receiving for the 1951 and 1953 seasons … caught 31 passes for 459 yards as a sophomore, and had 18 receptions for 363 yards and a 20.1 average per catch his senior season … also handled the placekick...

Watching Reruns is Better

Some of these commercials on NFL games are just plain stupid. It gets to be a real bore. The NFL Game Pass has condensed games going back at least three years. Families have allot to do these days and watching commercials interrupted by football should not be one of them. The condensed games run 75 ...

Re: Clock Management; Slide Rule; And Energy

This reminds me of the criminal spear on Donovan McNabb in the 2003 NFC title game at LFF versus the Carolina Panther. I cannot remember the linebackers' name but should have been penalized, ejected, and fined. This was on the Eagles field goal drive. The Eagles at leased would have had the ball for...
