Re: Best ‘response’ to an 0-4 start

In 2013 the Pittsburgh Steelers started the season 0-4 but rallied to finish the year at a respectable 8-8.

Re: Most-dominant post-season performance by a team?

You also have to look at quality of competition. The 78 Steelers started the post season by defeating Denver and Houston by a combined total of 77-15. Super Bowl against the Cowboys, obviously, was much closer at 35-31, but you also have to consider Dallas was also the defending Super Bowl champions...

Re: 2nd-best Don Coryell HC’ed team

I would agree that the 1975 Saint Louis Cardinals team was his second best. Terry Metcalf was the Le'Veon Bell of his day, rushing for 816 yards (4.9 average), catching 43 passes, scoring 13 touchdowns when also factoring punt and kick off returns. Jim Otis powered his way for another 1076 yards on ...

Nice list, but I might have made room for Jack Ham.

Re: The 1988 49ers and their 6-5 start

Could it be a scenario somewhat similar to the 2005 Steelers, whom started 7-5 before rounding into form and then running the table? It could be said that both teams peaked at the right time over the final half of the season.

Re: "Super Series" championship

I'm curious as to what others think. Do you think the 2007 Giants could've won 2 out of three games against the Pats? How about the 1968 "series?" Could the Jets beat the Colts in 2 out of 3 games? along similar lines, who would be interested in seeing the Bears & Patriots clash again...

Re: Super Bowl Week: paying homage to 1980 Eagles

I know many on here aren't into computer games but there are two simulation style pro football games now that are extremely realistic. Strat-o-Matic and Front office football. Strat-o-Matic is more for those that prefer playing with real teams from the present or past. While Front office Football i...
