Re: Jets-VS-Giants history
There was a time in the 80s that the "other" #56 in NY (Lance Mehl) was playing at a Pro Bowl level, and it was showcased in ESPN. IIRC in 1988 they met in the last game of the season, and the Jets knocked out the Giants out of the playoffs. It will be interesting to list players who have...

Re: Jets-VS-Giants history
Best game they ever played in my opinion was 2015, also went into OT and had a furious late Jets ccomeback
1993 both Jets and Giants should've made the playoffs but the Jets choked that spot away. Jets won a 10-6 game on Halloween.

Re: Jets-VS-Giants history
A memorable game...bad game but memorably bad. Terrible rain + injuries (Giants to Waller and Taylor, Jets basically had no center and Zach Wilson) made this a sloppy disaster. Wilson made a few plays finally to take advantage of the gifts the Giants gave him...but most other QB's, competent ones, w...

Re: Two games involving winless teams
0-6 Bucs met the 0-5 Seahawks in Week 6 of the 1976 season (still 14 game season so just before midway point)...but that wasn't entirely unexpected that this game would have both teams coming in winless

Re: Jimmy G, most fragile QB ever?
One guy I remember who was always always hurt seemingly was Chris Chandler. He was pretty good when he could get on the field. Never had a single season where he made more than 14 regular season starts

Re: How will Belichick's final chapter be written?
My opinion: no way he retires if they get Caleb. Even if they don’t, I think they'll be in position to draft Maye or Penix at least, so he'll more than likely try to ride it out with one last QB. If that doesn't work, he'll probably still get the wins record after 3 or so years and be ready to walk...

Re: Notable 5-0 starts (then losing sixth game)
Jets actually started 5-0 in 2004 before losing a tough 13-7 game in New England to the undefeated Patriots who improved to 6-0.

How will Belichick's final chapter be written?
It's kind of funny watching this and hearing younger football fans commenting how this is the first time in their lives they can remember the Patriots being bad. It's almost hard for them to compute. For the rest of us of course the Patriots of up until 1992 were not known as one of the NFL's premie...

Re: Obscure trivia
And we can finally put this one to bed
The New York Jets have beaten the Philadelphia Eagles.
I have my closure for the Eric Allen game.

Re: 2023 season, Week 1
as it usually is in the Saleh era. All he does is talk and the team continuously comes out unprepared and underachieves. I think you're being a little hard on Robert Saleh. It's hard to win consistently in the N.F.L. w/o solid QB play. Just ask Bill Belichick. Maybe I am, but I don't think he shoul...
