Lately, googlesnewspaperarchives.com has been difficult to navigate. It keeps freezing on me after I zoom in to read and article. if anyone has found a way to avoid that, let me know.
I may have to go to a paid archive subscription. Recommendations?

Re: Paper of Record App to read TSN
The Paper of Record iPad app for TSN has finally stopped working. Anyone subscribe through their website or through a SABR membership? Is it user friendly? I've heard newspaperarchives.com also provides TSN access. Does anyone know how user friendly it is? I'd want to read the entire issue from star...

Re: Astroturf
Astroturf was even more popular in the college ranks. I think by the early 1970s the entire Southwest Confernece played on an artificial surface. Out of the top programs in the country, I can only name a handful (USC, ND, UCLA, Penn State, LSU, Ole Miss and Georgia), that played on grass. I thought ...

Re: Astroturf
Fieldturf (and the other various brands of artificial turf) is cheaper than grass. Hence why owners go that route. Anything to save a buck. Players seems to be a mix, players that rely on speed (including defensive players) say how 'great' fieldturf is and whine about grass, mud, dirt, etc. Most ot...

Astroturf
Lately, I have been reading through old issues from the late 1960s and early 1970s of The Sporting News and one of the things that jumps out at me was the heavy advertising done promoting Astroturf. These ads appeared on a weekly basis and often announced what new pro or college team had just instal...

Re: Milwaukee newspapers
Looks like the Milwaukee Journal and Milwaukee Sentinel have returned to the Google newspaper website. Thanks for letting us know. I wonder why they returned to Google? I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that the Milwaukee Public Library paid to have much of their archives digitized? H...

Re: Chicago Tribune Archives
Is the Trib part of newspapers.com? I have a 2-week trial there and I can't find it.
I am also having problems finding the Milwaukee Journal or Sentinel. I see they have some from the 1800s but I don't see anything from the 1960s or 1970s.

Re: Questions for Dallas Cowboys archivist
They told me once they thought that had their unofficial sack stats on a computer file somewhere but they didn't know where. They were going to get back to me if they found them but never did. I may have to contact them again to follow up. The Redskns sent me what they had for the 1970s a few years ...

Re: Chicago Tribune Archives
At some point in the past few hours the Chicago Tribune Archives appear to have been moved on to the Newspapers.com platform. Was working normally this morning (local time), but now the http://archives.chicagotribune.com URL redirects to http://chicagotribune.newspapers.com After 3-years of it bein...

Re: Paper of Record App to read TSN
This app is no longer available in the App Store. I have upgraded to a newer iPad but cannot download the App since it gone. Any other options to be able to access TSN? I can still use the app on my old iPad but will eventually need to retire it someday.
