Re: Quarterbacks that were hideous in bad weather???

I think Montana proved that he could play in less-than-ideal conditions in his final college game, the 1979 Cotton Bowl. It was the day after a surprise ice storm hit Dallas, and the wind chill was below zero. Montana missed the start of the 2nd half, as his body temperature fell to 96 degrees. He ...

Re: Quarterbacks that were hideous in bad weather???

Joe Montana had good hands and hardly ever fumbled but Steve Young had problems in wet, muddy conditions in the postseason. Weather somewhat hindered him in the 1992 divisional, championship and 1996 Lambeau Field divisional games, I felt. Stabler and Bradshaw could have some bad weather games, the...

Quarterbacks that were hideous in bad weather???

With the narrative surrounding Brock Purdy in 2023 with the games in Cleveland, and at home against the Packers, it got me thinking as to which quarterbacks were hideous in less than ideal weather. Tua Tagovailoa struggled against the Chiefs, and his arm just looked very lackluster in the cold. Same...

Re: Super Wild Card Weekend

At least the 1986 Jets won a playoff game, and took the Browns to double overtime in the divisional round. This collapse by the 2023 Eagles has to be in the conversation of worst-ever. I'm honestly not sure if Nick Siriani survives. BTW this is why the famous Bill Parcells quote "You are what y...

OH THE HUMANITY!!!!

Seriously, how can any 49ers fan be annoyed by that in the moment??? It was a 2 second gesture he did after getting a turnover for the defense lol

Re: George Kittle HOF Future?

Hopefully voters can see past the volume stats. In this papermetrics era that might not matter as much in some cases. Kittle's could be one of those cases. Having a SB ring would obviously help too. If he gets to Ozzie Newsome career total levels (around two years if he hangs around mostly healthy) ...

Re: Teams that didn't play on MNF the entire season but "should" have

1999 Rams??? And that was before Kurt Warner came into play. Rams traded for Marshall Faulk and signed FA Trent Green that offseason. I guess that didn't move the needle enough to garner a game, even if they were an away opponent. Rams drafted Holt, but he was an unproven rook. Still, the Rams hadn'...

Re: Freezer Bowl

With some cold games this weekend, I did some follow up on the Freezer Bowl AFC Championship game between the Bengals & Chargers prior to Super Bowl 16. Outside of the obvious storylines for the game, being the freezing cold, and the Chargers coming off the thrilling OT win in Miami the week pr...

Re: Worst MVP race EVER

I definitely haven't watched a less compelling NFL MVP race than 2023, and I'd bet most of you haven't either. Every legitimate candidate has taken turns imploding their first week on top of the odds, to the point where a very average Lamar Jackson season is now being considered. It's gotta be CMC ...

Re: WRs who could/should have won MVP

Elway getting the award over Montana/Rice was nutty. I think that's the only time we had a QB win MVP, but not get 1st-Team All-Pro lmao. It was eye test award plus the aspect of "value" as in the literal definition --like when middle infielders win the MVP in baseball ... back in the day...
