Re: Players health 20 years from now in regards to concussio

It will be interesting to see how much the increased awareness of the longterm affects of head injuries and concussions will have on players health twenty years from now. Once all the current players are out of the game will the fact that they do take a lot more precautions now in regards to concus...

Re: Owens choosing not to attend his Hall of Fame induction

Happy to see the HOF will be minimizing Owens' visibility at the ceremony. How so? Owens is minimizing his own visibility. The HOF is also smart to eliminate the potential jeering and booing which would have occurred during Owens' video segment during the event. When an organization honors someone,...

Re: Owens choosing not to attend his Hall of Fame induction

What do you guys think of this. This shows how truly immature Terrell Owens was/and probably still is. I honestly think if someone can't bother to attend (unless of course special circumstances arise) then they shouldn't be a part of the HOF at all. I'd say just take the guy off the list and find s...

Re: NFL Network Top-10 (#5 on What-ifs: Peyton Manning)

The question for this one was: What if Peyton Manning stays a Colt? In my opinion, it should have been "What if he never hurts his neck"? Agreed. I don’t think there’s any way Manning would have stayed a Colt. He was coming off a neck injury and would have commanded a solid contract to st...

Re: What-if Rams complete comeback vs Saints, 1st-Rd, 2000?

The 2000 Rams were betrayed by the deterioration of their defense from 1999. The passing defense especially, was horrid. Like other lopsided playoff teams from the past, St. Louis couldn't overcome the imbalance.

Re: 1980: Bears at Steelers, Week #4

Nice, informative posts, gang! This game hardly at all ’79 Steelers-vs-’85 Bears, but the 46 rearing it’s head just the same. Not sure when those Bears’ rushing yards accumulated in that ’75 game, LC. Maybe the bulk of it was in garbage time. It wouldn’t be until their next meeting, in ’86 at Soldi...

Re: 1980: Bears at Steelers, Week #4

Saw a bit of this game just now. This 38-3 Steeler-triumph is, to me, the 'last-breath' of them still looking..."Number One", will win-it-all yet again! You can say it extended for yet another week in their road-win at Minny to make it 4-1. Their Week #3 loss to Cincy? I can remember my f...

Re: Guess what we have a new league with a CBS contract.

Even though it's not the NFL, I'm glad to see that we've got eight more teams to provide jobs for players, with the support of a major network, so good luck to the Alliance League. Whatever happened to that XFL remake? I have a feeling it's going to be an ex-FL. The AAF was contacted by numerous ci...

Re: Has anybody been able to rewatch Super Bowl XII

Maybe it is hard to make a comparison between the two teams because one team came at a time when rules were much more favorable to the offenses but since I have watched several of the '70's Cowboys games now I have gotten the impression that the '90's Cowboys were quite a bit better than the '70's ...

Re: Jerry Glanville-Brett Favre

Brett Favre was indeed a surprise to many being drafted so high out of Southern Miss Nope. The surprise was that Favre lasted to the 2nd round and that the Raiders selected Todd Marinovich before him. Favre was a projected 1st round pick. The top 3 QB prospects that year were Favre, Dan McGwire of ...
