Steve Atwater and Dennis Smith.
Donnie Shell and Mike Wagner.
Ronnie Lott and Carlton Williamson (briefly as Lott was a corner for the first few years of his career).
Cliff Harris and Charlie Waters.
Glen Edwards (underrated, IMO) and Wagner.

Re: A 6-year HOF plan, just wow
I am not saying it is a huge scenario with the voters, but I think Mills' story is a Kurt Warner root for the underdog Rudy deal.
Yes, he was a damn good backer, for sure.

Re: A 6-year HOF plan, just wow
Not referring to you guys at all......BUT, I think the voters are a bit enamored with Sam Mills, because of his small stature, where he came from, how he was successful going against the odds, etc. It is kind of like the Kurt Warner scenario in many ways. If Mills would have been a player from a big...

What about Dick Anderson? Nobody ever talks about him (not from what I hear, anyway).

Re: HOF Safety Talk
Excellent post, Bachs.
I do think Tatum could strongly be argued in Canton, because of the way he intimidated folks. People were timid to go across the middle with #32 at free safety.
Also, I think his reputation cost him some individual accolades.

I don't think he is a HOFer.
How do you guys think he stacks up against Dungy?

I do not agree that Sam Mills is a HOFer at all.
Gradishar, Mecklenburg, Bergey, Nobis are all better--much better--choices, IMO.

Re: HOF Safety Talk
Lake was a damn good all-around player, but I cannot see him being a HOFer, either.
It irked me that Darren Woodson was a semi-finalist (I think) last year, and the names mentioned above have not been close (sans Lynch and Atwater).
I think Nolan Cromwell is just as deserving as Darren Woodson.

Re: HOF Safety Talk
Yes, Dungy endorsing Shell will be like Woodson talking up LeBeau....and probably the same result.
