Somewhat related, there was an article several years ago in the Coffin Corner about the Connecticut Giants, the semi-pro team that provided many of the replacement players for the NY Giants. Not sure when, but maybe others remember.

PS -- Despite what I just posted, I'd say there's a good chance several on that list will wind up getting in, if only because they have effective, influential advocates in the room.

Don't see a compelling case for anyone on that list to be in the HOF.

I think Cliff Branch is one of the most glaring omissions from the HOF. His numbers are better than HOF contemporaries Swann and Stallworth, and he was a mainstay on three Super Bowl winners.
