This comment was very underrated. It deserves more respect.JuggernautJ wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2024 10:40 pm "Fatigue makes cowards of us all." -- Vince Lombardi (and General George Patton)

Re: Cliff Battles: Neft/Cohen v. PFR
Doing some 'research' on old RBs, and noticed a discrepancy with Cliff Battles rushing totals. In my Neft/Cohen encyclopedia, it lists Battles with 511 yards in 1934 and 310 yards in 1935. Pro Football Refence shows Battles with 480 yards in 1934 and 230 in 1935. Which is correct? And why is there ...

Re: Weakest Dolphin playoff team?
I'd vote for the 1999 version, even though they won a playoff game, referred to as The Back In Bowl because the Seahawks had lost 5 of their last 6 while the Dolphins also had lost 5 of their last 6. The Dolphins were able to sneak by Jon Kitna and the Seahawks, only to lose to Jacksonville the foll...

Re: Players who have been top five in career rushing yards at any point since 1932
Take this with a couple grains of salt, but here are the unofficial rushing leaders of pre-1932 seasons: 1920 = Dutch Sternaman, Decatur 1921 = Fritz Pollard, Akron 1922 = Jimmy Conzelman, Rock Island/Milwaukee & Hank Gillo, Racine (tie) 1923 = Tex Grigg, Canton 1924 = Tex Hamer, Frankford 1925 ...

Re: Players who have been top five in career receiving yards at any point since 1932
I had never heard of Roger Grove or Dale Burnett. Mal Kutner and Stanley Morgan are surprises for me. Agreed. It seems like a lot of the earlier guys were pass targets of either Sammy Baugh or Sid Luckman. Ken Kavanaugh held Bears franchise receiving records until somewhat recently. I was surprised...

Re: 1982 NFL salary trivia
Here are the answers: 1) The highest paid player on the Vikings intercepted 3 passes in 1980. Name him. Charlie Johnson 2) The highest paid player was a QB who won zero games in 1982. Archie Manning 3) One of the Vikings who was making the league minimum ended up making 6 pro bowls. Steve Jordan 4) ...

Re: Mike Evans will probably never be first-team All-Pro
Does the adjusted yards chart make Charlie Joiner appear to be a first ballot HOFer?
