Re: Best Year of the 1960s
Another point about 1960 is how close it came to pitting lombardi against Paul Brown. In the second Eagles-Browns meeting that year, Philadelphia won on a 38-yard field goal by Bobby Walston with 10 seconds left. 38 yards was really beyond Walston's range by that point and he claimed it was his big...

Re: Who was better, Ken Riley or Lemar Parrish?
Parrish scored more TDs and had value in the return game. This came up a few years ago, and in looking at the game books, Parrish generally covered the tougher receiver on the other team. I think Paul Warfield may have been an exception. My guess would be that other teams stopped throwing at Parrish...

Re: Where do Hawks go from here?
Although I'm not a Seahawks fan (especially after they beat my beloved Packers in the recent NFC Title Game), I think that they have pretty strong overall depth, especially on defense. They'll be hungry for another shot. They kind of remind me of the 1971 Dolphins, who lost Super Bowl VI, but then ...

Re: Fred Cox
His overall numbers are comparable with contemporaries Jim Bakken and Jim Turner. He didn't kick well in the Super Bowl. Bud Grant liked old players, so he stayed around for a long time. That's about all I know.

Re: Worst...call...ever
Interesting ... Lynch was given five chances to score from the 1-yard line this year and he only succeeded once, according to the WaPo. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-lead/wp/2015/02/02/seahawks-marshawn-lynch-isnt-exactly-money-from-the-1-yard-line/ During the Super Bowl, Lynch was 1-fo...

Re: Worst...call...ever
From what I gather, Bevell was blaming Lockette after the game for not fighting hard enough for the ball. What nerve. I felt the play was slow in developing. Lockette was too slow on his break. Once the ball was in the air it was too late. As far as the timeouts go, it looked a little weird, but I ...

Re: Can the Packers actually win on Sunday?
Greatest game ever? It was a very interesting game, I would say. I thought Seattle came out flat. They never really got any pressure on Rodgers. Maybe they concentrated on coverage, I don't know. I thought it was closer to Dallas-San Francisco 1972. Including an onside kick. I expect New England to ...

Re: Can the Packers actually win on Sunday?
In this matchup, avoiding big plays by the Seahawks defense is probably more inportant than stopping big plays by their offense. So GB should take a controlled approach. I am okay with them settling for field goals or using some time. A lot of the game can be trading punches and keeping the Seahawks...

Re: Interesting Photo (Easy Quiz)
Okay, on the offense, the other three were Guy Dennis, Larry Smith, and Mike Montler.
