Re: '85 Jets VS '85 Giants

I'm guessing you mean 1986 Jets vs 1986 Giants First off the Jets would've had to corral Elway in the AFC title game, though they did have the speedy pass rush to do so (and did beat Denver earlier in the year) That game is probably a coin flip, but I lean Jets win The Super Bowl would be tough, fir...

Re: 1991 Jets

Check out wiki and there's a quote from The Football Outsiders calling them one of the worst playoff teams ever. The Coz's other 8-8 outing with the Jets two years later were a stronger team FWIW. In '93, they were 8-5 going down the stretch but Dallas, at Buffalo, then at Houston remaining on the ...

Re: Worst ONE-AND-DONE playoff teams ever

1991 Jets. 7-8 going into Miami who was 8-7 at the time. And they needed a miracle just to squeak by the Dolphins. IIRC Miami scored a TD on a 4th and 1 with like 36 seconds left to go up by a FG. Jets had a miraculous last second charge to set up Raul Allegre's tying kick, won it in OT, and then we...

Re: That Catch

Too me it's the poor mans version of the Endy Chavez catch. The Beckham catch was unbelievable and will be remembered forever. But they still lost the game, and the season is a lost cause.

Nick Mangold is an under the radar guy that's going to make it.

Re: Have we hit rock bottom with NFL uniforms?

One thing I never understood though was the Rams going to that very empty and simplistic blue and white look in LA. Were they trying to be more in step with the Dodgers?

Re: Oakland Raiders and penalties

Oakland led the league in penalties in 1966 and in 1968/69

The only year in the 70's that they led the league in penalties was 1975.

Re: Expansion in the 60's with no AFL

Boston and a 2nd New York team definitely come into the mix, but probably not until the 1970's. The Giants pretty much had everything from Central NJ through french canada to themselves by then, so I would expect them to try and stave off any expansion in that area as long as possible.
