Re: Least favorite season your team had?

1994 Bills. Most of the talent was still there from the Super Bowl teams although a year older. A regression wouldn't have been surprising. 10-6 and an early playoff exit maybe. But falling all the way to 7-9 with almost the same core group was painful to watch. The regression should have happened ...

Re: Worst playoff team in NFL history?

As nostalgic I'll always be for '89, the installment five years prior is noticeably the stronger of the two with me. Here's the thing: I know that the 84 Steelers did have some strong road wins (@SF and @Raiders). However, I think that Brister was the lesser of two evils at QB (and, some people tho...

Re: Worst playoff team in NFL history?

By what measure? John Stallworth alone had more receiving TDs than the 1989 Steelers. The 84 Steelers still had a powerful WR corps and a strong OL. The offense scored like 150 more points than the 89 Steelers, and the defense allowed fewer points than the 89 Steelers. They beat the Niners in 84. I...

Re: Worst playoff team in NFL history?

This reminds me of my favorite playoff team of all-time....the 1989 Steelers! They somehow snuck in at 9-7 because three other teams lost on the last week of the regular season. The QB duo of Brister & Blackledge accounted for 10 TD passes. The Bengals, who missed the postseason, threw for 32 T...

Re: Least favorite season your team had?

For the Broncos, it has been every season since 2017. Elway and his incompetent FO have been making so many bad decisions since then (Case Keenum, Joe Flacco, firing OC Scangarello after 2019, trading for and paying Russell Wilson, etc...). And, this idiotic new ownership group won't get rid of them...

Re: Least favorite season your team had?

I did not know that the Jets almost traded Namath to Denver in 1976. Also, that was the same year that Lynn Dickey wanted to go to Denver, but according to Dickey, they didn't want him (at the 47:27 mark): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V13SGrS3PzA I can't believe that the Broncos would want Namath...

Re: Worst playoff team in NFL history?

I would nominate the 2012-14 Colts. They only had ten Pro Bowlers over a three-year span, and their defense was rated 21st in 2012 and 19th in 2014. I don't know why people were high on that team at the time. When they went downhill for a few years after the 2014 AFC Title Game loss, I wasn't surpri...

Re: 2024 NFL Predictions

4. Denver Broncos (3-14): The Broncs are starting from scratch.
I wish. That would mean that John Elway, his nephew, and the rest of the inept front office were gone.

Re: Your Unpopular Football Opinions

I'm not sure why you're so determined to dump on a team that your heroes beat in the Super Bowl. The 1996 Packers were really, really good. The more energy you spend disputing that, the sillier you look. First off, nobody in the NFL should be anyone's hero (unless they actually save their life some...

Re: Your Unpopular Football Opinions

Dorsey Levens suffered a broken leg in 1998. Had an impressive comeback to get that 1,000 yards.
OK. Good for him. He did a great job. However, he was never in Ahman Green's class.
