Re: Top 100 Pro Football Books of All-Time

In terms of who's qualified to make a list, it depends on what kind. If it's a straight bibliography, I can't think of many people more qualified than a librarian, which, to my knowledge, both Willis and Maxymuk qualify. A list of the "best" or the "top" books? Different matter a...

Re: Good article about Rams' return to Coliseum

As a child we sang "Up With People" in music class while our music teacher banged it out on piano. I can still sing that song without missing a lyric. Sometimes today, when triggered by a smell or a word or a single note, it just comes out. Doesn't matter where I'm at. Get 'em young, the b...

Re: Good article about Rams' return to Coliseum

If the league was feeling so nostalgic, then why didn't they have Super Bowl 50 at the L.A. Coliseum? And have it be an afternoon game? It would have been the perfect venue to commemorate the 50th World Championship Game. What a grand idea. It would have sold out no problem. But the halftime acts l...

Re: Top 100 Pro Football Books of All-Time

To anyone disappointed that a certain book doesn't make the list, there's one way to resolve that: make your own list.

This list is just one man's opinion. Fun to read (and an interesting list for a change!) but no more valid than your own well informed opinion.

Look forward to reading the rest.

Re: Top 100 Pro Football Books of All-Time

There are popular books and there are critics' darlings, books for other writers. The best book is when the two meet.

Will be interesting to watch how this plays out.

Re: Good article about Rams' return to Coliseum

One more fact about Mile High at Denver: our tour guide told us that Pat Bowlen's private suite had a bookshelf with a book or notch of some sort that, when pulled, triggered a panel that slid open revealing an elevator that took him straight down to field level. This might not be all that uncommon ...

Re: Jerseygate in Jersey

That's interesting. A few years back myself and a group of co-workers bid on a basketball signed by Kevin Garnett that was put up for auction as part of a United Way fundraiser (the item was listed by another employee, not the United Way). Our boss was a Timberwolves season ticket holder and big Gar...

Re: Jerseygate in Jersey

You'd never expect something like this from stand up folks like the Giants and Strahan but this one sort of has the smell of truth to it, doesn't it? The growth of the memorabilia industry is one of the worst things to happen to sports in the last couple decades. Very exploitive; the chumps that buy...
