Re: Best Year of the 1960s

THE NFL WAS RIGHT TO MAKE EVERY RULE CHANGE IT MADE IN THE 1970s TO KEEP THE GAME FROM BECOMING TERMINALLY BORING. I will say that a thousand times if I need to. Whatever you thought of it, by 1977 1970s football deserved to die. Well, I probably agree, with slightly less enthusiasm. It's gone a bi...

Re: More footage of NBC's telecast of Super Bowl V surfaces?

So what ARE the only Super Bowls in which the entire telecast is not available? I can't believe that the networks wouldn't consider saving the entire telecast as early as SBI. Allowing something like the first 6 seasons of 'All My Children' to be 'wiped'...a bit more understandable (no offense to a...

Best Year of the 1950s

Thought I beat you to it, Joe, by starting this inevitable thread. A lot to pick from, obviously. You got '58 that concluded with 'you-know-what'. The year before brought on quite a lopsided Title Game but the Western Conference Title game...Lions' famous comeback at SF - makes it memorable. Not onl...

Re: Were '92 Seahawks 'best' 2-14 team ever?

[quote="74_75_78_79_" No slight on Erickson intended, more-so a Flores 'what-if' based on the fact that we already seen him win (2 SBs) in the NFL - of course with the argument that Al may or may not have played a hand in it. Was it Tom's subdued persona that makes him 'unfairly' underrat...

Ryan 'back' in Buffalo

Neat little thing to click onto below. Buddy as the new DL-coach University of Buffalo (6 years before SBIII) and look who's at his left?

Re: Most courageous performance by a QB?

Every example from all of you are great ones, indeed (and of course Greg Cook should be included)! As for ones you all haven't mentioned yet...(not sure if they're all as good, I'll let you all shuffle them in place amongst your own)... ALL the ones who ever played QB in leather helmets! Theismann ...

Re: Were '92 Seahawks 'best' 2-14 team ever?

Would those 8-8, 7-9 outputs in '95, '96 respectively been playoff berths under the two-time SB-champ hence prolonging his stay in the Pacific Northwest? I wouldn't say that. Would be disrespectful to the very good football coach that Dennis Erickson is. Plus he's a fellow member of the WA HS QB cl...

Re: Best Year of the 1960s

In the AFL...1963 Both division races had drama, resulting in the first AFL division championship tie-breaker game, for the East, between both the Pats and Bills at Buffalo. Not to mention that Houston was actually ahead at 6-4 with only four weeks remaining only to lose-out the rest of the way. Eve...
