Re: Least favorite season your team had?

You may wonder why I didn't pick 1999's 8-8. That is actually one of my favorite Packers seasons. There were the three fourth-quarter comebacks in four games, the roller-coaster ride of three-game streaks, and the "we need more points" game to end the year. And while it worked out for the ...

Re: Least favorite season your team had?

I’m going to rule out last-place finishes… which means only one from the Packers since I started following football in 1995. I’m also going to rule out losing seasons in general… those are also few, and the easiest ones to pick. I’d then say the 2000 Packers. While they finished with a winning recor...

Re: NFL films on dvd?

What I'd like is some of the stuff they used to play on ESPN2 in the nineties. "The story of the 2-point conversion," etc. The closest I can find to that are the extra features on some of the DVDs. There's a lot of good stuff that they have put out there for purchase - for example, the six...

Re: Anyone besides me like Giants throwbacks?

I do like them. I like all the wild throwbacks, like the Eagles' from 2007 and the Packers' from 2010. Unfortunately the Giants looked terrible and now those uniforms are stained with that performance. I want that Giants 100th anniversary book, but I can't afford a $60+ price for it with shipping.

Re: What Stopped Grren Bay in 1964

Week 2. at home the Packers lost 21 to 20 to the Baltimore Colts. Hornung missed the extra point. Record should have been 8-4-2 Week 4. at home the Packers lost 24 to 23 to Minnesota. Hornung again missed the extra point. Record would have been 8-3-3 Week 6 at Baltimore the Packers lost 24 to 21. H...

2024 NFL Predictions

2024 NFL Predictions Last year, I utterly nailed my prediction on the champion. Here’s what I wrote on the Chiefs: Sometimes it’s that simple. The best team in the league is just staring you down. To dodge them is pointless. They are still the best. And about them winning another Super Bowl… it is u...

Re: 1998 Eagles Season

To be honest, Rhodes did deserve another season or two in GB--Favre played but was hurt in 1999--but Ron Wolf was still upset about the team starting to slip after losing to the Broncos in the SB. Sherman Lewis even admitted that the team had taken the Broncos for granted and an 8-8 season in 1999 ...

Flag football at the Olympics

So, flag football is going to be at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. It'll probably be a one-time thing, since it's a sport picked by the home nation, though I'd love for it to become a permanent event. How is the NFL going to factor in the men's competition? Are they going to send NFL players to L...

Re: 21st Century SB Champs who'd do well (WIN) vs some 20th Century SB Champs?

Asking this question has really made me think about the relative weakness of Super Bowl champions since 2000. We had a whole bunch of wild card champions, and not all that many #1 seeds winning it all. The best two teams of the 21st century, in my opinion, were the 2007 Patriots and 2011 Packers, an...
